Because of heavy popular demand, a second dinner is being added to the festivities honoring next week’s inauguration of Gov. Bill Ritter.
The additional dinner on January 12 will be held at the Hyatt Regency Convention Center Hotel, directly across the street from the Convention Center, where the initial 2,000-seat dinner is being served. Tickets to that sold out in less than 24 hours, so the second event is being added at the same price, $60 per person. Those tickets will go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. on the inaugural website, wwww.coloradopromise.org.
Both venues will feature identical reception and dinner programs, including remarks by and opportunities to mingle with Ritter and Lt. Gov. Barbara O’Brien.
Ritter’s wife, Jeannie, announced the second dinner this morning at a preview of the inaugural dinner menu, featuring beef wellington.
“The public response has been overwhelming,” the next first lady said. “It really speaks volumes about the wonderful people of Colorado. They were empowered by the election and they’re excited about the chance to celebrate. I’m thrilled we’re able to add this second venue so people who want to participate are able to participate.”
