Get your Charizards and Metapods ready for a rumble. Players are invited to test their skill, strategy and creativity in three divisions: junior (born in 1996 or later), senior (born in 1992-1995) and masters (born 1991 or earlier). The winner in each category earns a champion title and is eligible for Pokemon prizes. The event is free and open to the public.

The event coincides with the Zebulon Pike’s entrance with his men into the San Luis Valley. Presentations will focus on the role of the expedition in the expansion of the American West. Events begin Friday at 5 p.m. with a reception and program at the Luther Bean Museum in Richardson Hall on campus. Saturday, historians from the region will present papers from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Carson Auditorium at the ASC Student Center. The banquet keynote address is scheduled at 5:30 p.m.
