Greeley – Dupree Lucas scored a game-high 32 points and Portland State topped Northern Colorado 79-66 in a Big Sky Conference game Saturday at Butler-Hancock Sports Pavilion.
Lucas, who shot 12-of-17 from the field, had the highest point total for Portland State (11-6, 2-2) since 2003. UNC (2-14, 0-4) led 10-7 early in the first half, but would not lead again. Kirk Archibeque and Will Figures led the Bears with 15 points apiece.
RMAC
Mesa State (9-3, 5-0) had four players in double figures, led by Brock Hyatt and Stephen Soriano, who scored 17 points apiece, and the Mavericks downed Colorado Mines (6-6, 2-3) 69-54 in Grand Junction. Ian Elseth led the Orediggers with 14 points.
Adams State (4-9, 3-3) got 23 points from Wes Jensen to top Chadron (Neb.) State (1-11, 0-6) 82-69 in Alamosa.
Western State (7-5, 3-2) led by as many as 12 and earned a 62-55 win over Colorado Christian (3-8, 0-5) despite suffering a 16-2 run by the Cougars.
Women
Denver’s defense held visiting Louisiana-Monroe to 17.2 percent shooting from the field and rolled to a 51-33 victory in a Sun Belt Conference game at Hamilton Gymnasium.
The Pioneers’ defense forced 21 turnovers, 11 steals and nine blocks, setting up the offense for an 11-0 run to begin the second half. Denver (7-6, 2-2), which led by as many as 14 points, was led by Sara Benham’s 14 points. Alisha Godette added eight points and 11 rebounds.
Nedra Winston led Louisiana-Monroe (11-5, 1-4) with seven points.
TCU 86, COLORADO STATE 36, at Fort Worth, Texas: Colorado State shot just 22.9 percent from the field in the second half as Texas Christian (12-4, 2-0 MWC) routed the Rams (6-8, 1-1) at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum.
TCU, led by Adrianne Ross’ 26 points, went on a 26-5 run to end the first half. Sara Hunter, seven points, was CSU’s top scorer.
COLORADO COLLEGE 71, POMONA-PITZER 63, at Claremont, Calif.: Paige Whitney scored 18 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to lead Colorado College (6-7) to a road win over Pomona-Pitzer (3-6) at the Voelkel Gymnasium.
BYU 59, AIR FORCE 46, at Air Force Academy: Brigham Young (10-4, 0-1 MWC) rallied in the second half and won its first Mountain West Conference game of the season by topping host Air Force (4-9, 0-2) at Clune Arena.
Dani Wright and Shawnee Slade led the Cougars with 13 points apiece. Air Force was led by Alecia Steele’s 16 points and 13 rebounds.
SACRAMENTO ST. 54, N. COLORADO 47, at Sacramento, Calif.: Neither team was able to shoot better than 33 percent from the field, but Sacramento State did enough for the victory at the Hornets Nest. Northern Colorado (3-11, 0-2 Big Sky) went 1-of-16 from beyond the arc. The Bears were led by Whitley Cox’s 20 points. Sacramento State (3-12, 1-1) was led by Atty Boyer’s 12 points and eight rebounds.

Colorado State-Pueblo (7-5, 5-1) edged visiting Nebraska-Kearney (10-3, 5-1) 70-68 in a matchup of two of the best teams in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
Mary Rehfeld scored 16 points to lead CSU-Pueblo and Kaylon Miller’s jumper with 45 seconds remaining gave the Timberwolves a 69-68 advantage.
Colorado Mines (6-7, 3-2) got 22 points from Iva Tomova to top Mesa State (9-4, 2-3) 67-55 in Grand Junction.
Audra Lawson scored a game-high 26 points to lead Western State (6-7, 4-1) to an 80-56 rout of visiting Colorado Christian (3-9, 0-5) in Gunnison.
