Police continue to investigate the fatal drive-by shooting of Denver Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams, but they did not announce any additional arrests Sunday.

Willie Clark, 23, was arrested late Friday on a parole violation and questioned about the Williams shooting, but police did not describe him as a suspect in the homicide.

In an interview with the Denver Post, Clark’s 80-year-old grandmother, Susie Johnson, said she doesn’t believe her grandson is capable of killing anyone.

Police sources said last week that three gang members were being sought in connection with Williams’ death.

Clark is the only man arrested for questioning in the case since then, and police would not confirm whether he was one of the three that they were searching for.

“The investigation certainly continues,” said Virginia Quiñones, Denver police spokeswoman.

Williams, 24, was eulogized by his teammates on Saturday during an emotional funeral in his hometown of Fort Worth, Texas.

The NFL player was gunned down early New Year’s Day as he sat in a stretch Hummer limousine with friends on Speer Boulevard and 11th Avenue.

About 14 bullets were fired into the Hummer just minutes after an argument occurred outside the Shelter nightclub at 10th and Broadway between people accompanying Williams and another group of men.

Police believe the gunman was inside a white Chevrolet Tahoe. The SUV was found Thursday, painted a dark color and parked on an empty street in Green Valley Ranch.

The Tahoe is registered to Brian Kenneth Hicks, 28, according to police sources.

Hicks is in the Denver County Jail awaiting trial on attempted murder and drug charges in an unrelated case.

He was in custody when Williams was shot to death.
