DENVER – Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc., the fast-food chain McDonald’s Corp. sold to the public last year, will accelerate its expansion this year, adding 95 to 105 restaurants after it improved training for employees who will run the new units.
Denver-based Chipotle is expanding as fast as it can find “good real estate and managers,” chief operating officer Monty Moran said Tuesday at a Cowen & Co. conference in New York. The company had 547 units in 25 states as of Sept. 30, 86 more than a year earlier.
