Short Hills, N.J. – Dun & Bradstreet Corp., a corporate database provider, will eliminate about 400 positions, or 8.5 percent of its workforce, to boost profit growth.

The restructuring will cost $13 million to $15 million, not including charges of $30 million to $35 million before taxes, the company said in a statement. The job cuts will take place by the end of the year.

The company, with 4,700 employees according to its website, had already eliminated about 5,000 positions through September as part of a program dubbed “Blueprint for Growth.” The moves announced Tuesday, which also include eliminating systems and technology infrastructure, will produce $80 million to $85 million of savings, the company said.

Dun & Bradstreet reaffirmed its Nov. 2 forecast for 2006 earnings per share of $3.86 to $3.96 before certain items.
