Double duty?
I just saw the Nuggets traded Earl Boykins, Julius Hodge and some cash to the Milwaukee Bucks for Steve Blake. So, when did Dan O’Dowd start working for the Nuggets, too?

Missing in action
Many readers (if they noticed) might have been upset with The Denver Post’s Wednesday sports section in which Page 5D was printed twice, rather than the rest of Mark Kiszla’s column regarding the “disappearance” of Nene’s inside presence this season. However, I found The Post’s mishap to be the perfect way to symbolize the Nuggets’ play since the suspensions of J.R. Smith and Carmelo…the inability of the Nuggets (and Denver Post) to provide sports fans with a complete second half.

Pure Paige prose
Woody is in top form. His Paige Pulitzer prose precisely explains the need for college I-A football playoffs. It’s great having Woody back. That column goes in the “classics” file!

Just sour grapes
After CU’s 24-point loss in Boulder to Texas, I found it amusing that coach Ricardo Patton would criticize the athletic director for the tough opponents scheduled early in Big 12 Conference play. As I recall, CU took a nose dive in the latter part of last season. Mike Bohn should have let Patton go before this season started. He didn’t, so we can look forward to more sour grapes and losses as this already sorry season progresses. Too bad.
