Two Air Force freshmen fared well for the Falcons men’s gymnastics team, with Brennan Wolford finishing third in the floor exercise and Garrett Canter claiming third on the pommel horse in the Rocky Mountain Open on Saturday at the Air Force Academy.
Wolford notched a score of 8.200 on the floor, while Canter matched a personal-best 7.600 on the pommel horse. Oklahoma was the day’s top team, claiming five of the six individual events.
Two UNC wrestlers ranked nationally
Kenny Hashimoto and Reece Hopkin, wrestlers on the Northern Colorado team, were among those ranked nationally in the USA Today/InterMat/National Wrestling Coaches Association poll. Hashimoto, a sophomore at 141 pounds, debuted in the poll at No. 16. Hopkin, a junior heavyweight, was tabbed No. 17, dropping one spot from the previous week.
