A 60-year-old man was crushed to death by his tractor this morning, as he attempted to pull his truck out of the snow in Larimer County.

The accident happened near the intersection of County Roads 11 and 30, around 8 a.m.

The man – Barry Precht – was killed when his tractor flipped over on him. According to the coroner’s office, he is a resident of Pahump, Nevada.

Investigators say Precht’s truck became stuck last night. He returned to the site this morning with a friend, to attempt to tow the truck using the tractor. It rotating on its rear axle and overturned, pinning him.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Larimer County Coroner.

Authorities had originally reported that Precht was part of a hunting party, but that proved not to be true.
