DENVER – Senate Bill 40, which aims to block Wal-Mart and other retailers from providing in-house banking services at their locations, on Tuesday passed a committee vote 6-to-1.

The bill will be debated on the Senate floor as early as Friday, with a vote expected next week, according to Lois Tochtrop, D-Thornton, the bill’s sponsor.
