It’s a hall of fame week.

On Saturday night, Cherry Creek baseball’s Hall of Fame had its third annual banquet at the Inverness Hotel and Conference Center at the Denver Tech Center and inducted coach Mike Kimminau and players Robert Burton, Darnell McDonald, Jason Huth and David Spykstra, while citing Chuck Jared for community service.

The Bruins also honored their 1995 Class 5A state championship team: Geoff Babbitt, Josh Bard, Chris Brown, Mike Conway, David Franz, Mike Goldstein, Jon Hall, Micah Hesting, Trip Humphrey, Huth, Greg Jock, Tyler Johnson, Scott Kirk, Josh LaRue, Brad Lidge, Matt Newton, R.J. Piscotta, Kevin Rudden, Chris Rudy and Ben Vestal. There was a silent auction containing a number of memorabilia items from the professional ranks.

On Wednesday, the Colorado High School Activities Association will have its 18th Hall of Fame banquet and induction ceremonies at the Radisson Hotel Denver Southeast at 6:30 p.m. Inducted will be Carl Callan, Cody Dusenberry, Richard Evans, Rich “Goose” Gossage, Mike Jackson, Bob Ottewill and Dick Yates.
