I didn’t know until just the other day that:
Douglas Kerbs – who stepped down as director of Tiffany & Co. Cherry Creek to establish a successful, high-end real estate career with Fuller Towne & Country – is also a partner (with Tripp Keber) in Denver’s newest hot spot, the Sutra Room at 1109 Lincoln St.
In his youth, developer Bill Mosher had been a Westernaire and rode with the equestrians in National Western Stock Show performances in 1956, 1957 and 1958.
Becoming promotion manager at CBS4 – a nice step up from his senior producer role at the station – isn’t the only reason Ed Crony is celebrating these days. He and wife Elizabeth Byrnes Crony are expecting their first child. And as the stork’s visit will be on July 2, they’ve already nicknamed the impending bundle of joy “Firecracker.” The former president of Blacktie-Colorado, Elizabeth is now vice president of client services at dovetail solutions, a Denver-based branding and marketing firm.
After six years with the city of Aurora, where he was a spokesman for both the Original Aurora Redevelopment project and the city itself, Jeff Martinez has joined Brothers Redevelopment. He’ll help publicize the nonprofit agency, and continue his volunteer efforts on behalf of such other causes as Clinica Tepeyac and the Hispanic Annual Salute.
The Colorado Theatre Guild’s new president is Charles Pickard, a producer with the Aurora Fox Theatre. He succeeds Steve Wilson and was introduced at the CTG’s annual meeting on Monday.
Both the Colorado Ballet Auxiliary and the Denver Lyric Opera Guild are having their annual fundraisers Saturday night. CBA’s festivities, chaired by Tonga Stimson, celebrate the opening of “Where the Wild Things Are.” It begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Donald R. Seawell Grand Ballroom. DLOG’s black-tie dinner is at Cherry Hills Country Club and will raise money for the study grants awarded at the group’s annual Competition for Colorado Singers. Vice president Gloria Andrus says the evening’s entertainment will be by previous winner Robert Garner, who recently appeared as Marcello in the New York Opera’s production of “La Boheme.”
