University of Denver freshman Keith Seabrook was named Western Collegiate Hockey Association rookie of the week. The defenseman from Delta, British Columbia, had three points, including a game-winning assist and his first career goal, in last weekend’s 1-0 victory and 5-4 loss to No. 1 Minnesota in Minneapolis.

Pioneers’ Cole gets second World bronze

DU alpine skier Adam Cole won his second bronze medal at the 2007 Winter World University Games on Tuesday in the super-G with a time of 1 minute, 11.65 seconds. The University of Colorado’s Drew Roberts finished 35th.

Pounds, Nu’u headed to Sportswomen’s Hall

Olympic javelin hopeful Dana Pounds of Air Force, University of Colorado volleyball player Ashley Nu’u and the Adams State cross country team will become members of the Colorado Sportswomen’s Hall of Fame at a banquet to honor Colorado’s top female athletes.

The banquet will be held March 11, and the 2007 sportswoman of the year will be announced.

Oklahoma prep lineman picks Wyoming

Brandon Self, a 6-foot-3, 282-pound guard from Shawnee, Okla., has orally committed to play football this season at Wyoming.

Self was named the offensive player of the year and offensive lineman of the year in his district in his senior year at Shawnee High School.
