Getting your player ready...

Champagne in his eyes, smile on his face, outfielder Preston Wilson couldn’t have been happier that he ended up in St. Louis last season. Not only did he go to the playoffs for the first time, he won a World Series title.

On Monday night, the former Rockies’ all-star re-signed with the Cardinals on a one-year, $1-million contract.

Wilson will compete for playing time in both corner outfield spots. Wilson hit .263 with 17 home runs and 72 RBIs, while splitting time with the Astros and Cardinals.

The 32-year-old can earn an additional $500,000 incentives if he reaches 500 plate appearances.
