Carmelo Anthony scored 33 points but turned to his teammates in overtime Friday night as the Nuggets snapped a four-game losing skid with a 114-107 win over the Portland Trail Blazers.

Nene added a season-high 20 points in his best performance since injuring a knee in last year’s opener as the Nuggets avenged a loss at Portland 48 hours earlier.

The game went into overtime when Nene’s tip-in off Anthony’s miss came a split-second too late.

Nene scored Denver’s first basket of the extra period, then Steve Blake (19 points) scored three straight baskets and J.R. Smith (17 points) scored five straight points before Blake scored again.

The Nuggets had scored 15 points in overtime before Anthony got involved, sinking two free throws for a 114-107 lead with 37 seconds remaining.

The Trail Blazers lost their seventh straight game at the Pepsi Center despite getting 25 points from Zach Randolph.
