Colorado Springs–A 45-year-old mother has been arrested for allegedly fatally stabbing her 19-year-old son during a family disturbance Thursday, according to Colorado Springs police.
Ila Voyles was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder for allegedly stabbing Johnny Velasquez in the chest at a home in the 1400 block of N. Corona Ave. Velasquez was taken to Penrose Hospital, where he died of his injuries.
An autopsy is scheduled today.
The death is the fourth homicide in Colorado Springs this year
