Lincoln, Neb. – Kelsey Griffin scored 23 points and grabbed 13 rebounds Saturday, leading No. 22 Nebraska to a 76-67 victory over No. 13 Baylor.
Nebraska (19-4, 7-2 Big 12) opened the game with a 16-2 run and never trailed.
Baylor (19-4, 6-3), shooting 45 percent this season, was held to 32 percent shooting.
Baylor’s Bernice Mosby, the Big 12’s second- leading scorer, had just three points – 16 under her season average. Nebraska’s Danielle Page played a key role in the defensive effort, blocking a school-record nine shots.
Angela Tisdale led Baylor with 18 points. Danielle Wilson scored 14 points for the Bears, Darrett finished with 11 points and Jhasmin Player added 10 points.
Keira Hardy scored 19 points for Nebraska.
No. 11 GEORGE WASHINGTON 72, RICHMOND 53 at Richmond, Va.: Jessica Adair scored 17 points and Sarah-Jo Lawrence had 15 with 11 rebounds as the Colonials won their 12th straight game.
Kimberly Beck added 16 points and Jazmine Adair had 10 rebounds to help spur George Washington (19-2, 10-0 Atlantic 10), which shot 58.6 percent in the first half and took a 44-28 halftime lead. The Colonials shot only 35.7 percent in the second half, but the Spiders (10-13, 4-4) also shot poorly and couldn’t capitalize.
Johanna McKnight led Richmond with 10 points.
NO. 12 ARIZONA ST. 66, WASHINGTON ST. 41
at Pullman, Wash.: Jill Noe scored a season-high 20 points to lead the Sun Devils.
Noe hit all seven of her field-goal attempts, including four 3-pointers, and both of her free throws for the Sun Devils (21-3, 11-2 Pac-10). She added eight rebounds.
NO. 19 LOUISVILLE 86, DEPAUL 68
at Louisville, Ky.: Angel McCoughtry had 29 points and 12 rebounds and the Cardinals pulled away in the second half.
McCoughtry shot 11-of-20 from the field and made all seven of her free throws for Louisville (21-2, 7-2 Big East). Jazz Covington added 14 points and 12 rebounds, and Yuliya Tokova contributed 13 points.
DePaul (14-9, 4-6) lost its second straight game. Allie Quigley led the Blue Demons with 24 points and Jenna Rubino added 16.
No. 20 MIDDLE TENNESSEE STATE 86,
SOUTH ALABAMA 58 at Murfreesboro, Tenn.: Amber Holt scored 27 points and Middle Tennessee State extended its school-record winning streak to 18 games.
The Blue Raiders (21-3, 13-0 Sun Belt) scored the first 10 points and never trailed in extending the nation’s third-longest winning streak. Only No. 2 North Carolina (24 games) and No. 1 Duke (22) have longer streaks this season.
The Blue Raiders won their 32nd conference home game in 33 tries by outshooting South Alabama (11-12, 5-8) and forcing 23 turnovers with 15 steals.
NO. 23 RUTGERS 85, CINCINNATI 43
at Piscataway, N.J.: Essence Carson scored 18 points to lead five players in double figures for the Scarlet Knights.
Kia Vaughn added 16 points, 10 rebounds and four blocked shots, and Epiphanny Prince had 16 points and four steals for Rutgers (14-6, 7-2 Big East), which has won four straight games and 12 of its past 14.
Emy Ogide scored 14 points for Cincinnati (12-10, 3-7), which lost its third straight game – all to ranked teams. It was Cincinnati’s lowest point total since a 64-40 loss at Villanova on Feb. 11, 2006.
