Necessity might be the mother of most inventions, but Bart Christiansen’s inspiration came from pure perplexity.
“When reaching down … my net nearly always fell off my back and into my face,” Christiansen said, explaining the notion for a magnet-based device that keeps a net pegged firmly to the back of a vest. The magnet pops free easily when you need the net, keeps it in place when you don’t, less likely to snag when walking through brush.
