Westminster – Dillon, a five-year-old Labrador mix, stared at the cone-shaped mask that was slowly encircling his nose and offered a resigned stare to his owner Carlo Crabtree.

“That’s a good boy,” Crabtree said. “See, it’s not so bad.”

Especially if it will save Dillon’s life someday. The Westminster Fire Department today received six sets of oxygen masks designed for dogs, cats and other pets that firefighters can use in case of a house fire.

Regular human oxygen masks don’t do a good job delivering life-giving air to dogs.
