1907: Within the boundaries of the diocese of Denver (then the entire state) no Roman Catholic man could marry a Protestant woman because of a special order issued by Bishop N.C. Matz.
1957: Members of the Honor the Bible Assn., who wanted to erect a $60,000 monument to the Holy Bible in Denver’s civic center, said they planned to fight the Denver art commission’s rejection of the plan.
