GADGET| Soon, you won’t need to check the forecast to know whether rain is on the way. A quick glance at the Forecasting Umbrella by Ambient will let you know. The base of the umbrella’s handle will light up and glow if rain, sleet or snow are predicted. The forecast is courtesy of AccuWeather.com and is keyed to the physical location of the umbrella. How often the handle lights up depends on the chance of precipitation. If the chance of rain is 100 percent, the light will blink 100 times per minute. If it’s 30 percent, it will go off once every few seconds. No setup is needed for the $124.99 umbrella, which runs on a single C battery.
