Colorado Mammoth forward Dan Carey was one of six players voted to the West Division team Wednesday for the National Lacrosse League All-Star Game, to be played March 10 in Portland, Ore.

Carey leads the Mammoth with 23 goals and 51 points this season. The teams were selected by a combined vote of NLL general managers, media and fans.

Mammoth coach Gary Gait will direct the West team. Philadelphia Wings transition player Geoff Snider, a former University of Denver player who also plays with the Denver Outlaws of Major League Lacrosse, will start for the East team.

Mammoth rookie Nenad Gajic is the NLL’s transition player of the week. Gajic leads all NLL rookies with 19 assists and ranks second in rookie scoring with 25 points.

Former Nuggets pick back in NBADL

Former Nuggets guard Julius Hodge, a first-round pick by Denver in 2005, was signed by the Idaho Stampede of the NBA Development League. Hodge was waived by the Milwaukee Bucks on Feb. 7 and played with the Colorado 14ers this season.

Also, the Los Angeles Clippers signed Von Wafer, a guard who has played this season with the 14ers. The 14ers added former Bakersfield Jam guard Tony Bobbit.

Roadrunners drop to No. 9 in coaches poll

The Metro State men’s basketball team dropped to No. 9 in the NCAA Division II coaches poll. The Roadrunners, then ranked No. 4, were defeated last Saturday by host Nebraska-Kearney in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference game. With the win, the Lopers entered the poll at No. 24.

In the women’s coaches poll, Regis moved up three spots to No. 19 and Metro State remained at No. 23.
