Things are going to be hot, hot, hot in Denver come May 5 when Beacon Center stages its annual Cherish the Children Gala.
The center’s Cherish the Children Guild again has enlisted Marc Roth and James Pfister to put their considerable design skills to work in re-creating Rio de Janeiro’s fabled Carnivale for the dinner, fashion show and auction chaired by Edna Chang-Grant and Lisa McCaffrey.
Plans were unveiled at a cocktail party held at Bob and Ruth Beriault’s home in Cherry Hills Village. Annabel Bowlen, founder of Beacon Center’s Cherish the Children Guild, and her husband, Denver Broncos owner Pat Bowlen, are the honorary chairmen; the team’s head coach, Mike Shanahan, and his wife, Peggy, will receive the Golden Cherub Award for their support of Beacon Center and its work to help abused and neglected teens.
Members of the gala committee include Stephanie Doss Odak, Kathy Rubin, Sharon Sweeney, Bonnie Mandarich, Lynne Hamstra and guild president Pamela O’Neal. Call 303-761-6756, ext. 24.
