A Grand Junction motorcyclist died Wednesday night when he flipped his bike inside the Colorado National Monument near Fruita.
William A. Rademacher, 36, died at the scene.
The Colorado State Patrol said Rademacher was riding his 2000 Harley Davidson west on Rim Rock Road when he missed a turn at milepost 14. Troopers said he tried to correct his bike but laid it over on the roadway.
The bike slid more than 100 feet down the road until it hit a wooden post. Rademacher’s body was found 29 feet from the edge of the roadway.
Alcohol is considered a factor in the investigation of the crash, troopers said.
