Site of the week: Ah yes, spring break is in the air, and families with school-age children are desperate for something to do. You know they’re going to hit the computers eventually this week, so send them to nationalgeographic.com/kids, where they can get a little education with their fun. The magazine’s site has a useful mix of teaching and pure gamesmanship. When you get tired of learning about tree frogs, we recommend the Play Fetch and Armadillo Alley games.
Watch this Web video: SlangTV.com wants to be the “gonzo journalism” of web-based TV. That’s a pretty bold claim, and the site doesn’t quite rise to it. But it does offer some long video clips you won’t find on mainstream network television. They feature stories about comedian and repeat drug offender Tommy Chong, “the truth about organ harvesting in China” and a talk with James Brown about the origins of blues and the corruption of money. We don’t endorse the politics, but we do endorse their efforts to broaden the discussion.-Michael Booth
