Air Force Academy – The speculation about Air Force coach Jeff Bzdelik’s future heated up Tuesday, with AFA athletic director Hans Mueh saying it’s not a foregone conclusion his coach is leaving.
“I want to keep Jeff Bzdelik as our coach as long he wants to be here,” Mueh said. “As soon as we’re finished playing, I will sit down with Jeff and see what we can do.”
Mueh said “media hype” seems to have Bzdelik on his way to Colorado as Ricardo Patton’s successor. He’s been called CU’s No. 1 candidate.
“Absolutely, Air Force’s hat is in the ring on this thing,” Mueh said.
Said Bzdelik: “It’s amazing how everybody has all the answers for me about something I haven’t discussed with anyone. I haven’t thought about some of the questions. I have a job, I’m getting paid to do a job, my heart is with my players and my team.”
