Age: 18. Born Jan. 1, 1989, in St. Louis.
High school sports: Baseball (catcher-pitcher) and skiing (2006-07 boys skimeister).
Grade-point average: 4.0.

My favorite subject: Music. I really enjoy it and play guitar.
My favorite athletes: Ken Griffey Jr.; I was born in St. Louis but am still a Reds fan. He was one of the players I grew up watching, he plays the way it’s supposed to be played. And Pete Rose, too.
My favorite team: Cincinnati Reds, because of their legacy and when I travel there it’s a baseball-oriented town.
What I listen to: Heavy metal.
The best thing on my training table: Spaghetti.
Pregame ritual: You know what they say – do the same things every time as in stretch, warm up and practice the way you play.
Time management tip: With a lot of activities, it’s best to prioritize.
Planned career: Undecided.
My family: Parents Dianne Coombs and Lee Hendrix.
I would love to visit: Australia and Ireland.
What I like most about high school sports: Teamwise, I like baseball; individually, I like ski racing. But give credit to the CHSAA, which does a good job of making (skiing) a team sport.
What I like least about high school sports: What makes me a little mad is the intimidation thing, treating freshmen differently than seniors.
