New York – Air Force basketball coach Jeff Bzdelik refused to be pinned down Monday concerning his interest in the vacant men’s basketball job at the University of Colorado.

At a news conference called to talk about the National Invitation Tournament, which has semifinal games tonight at Madison Square Garden, Bzdelik would not answer questions about the CU job. It’s widely believed he is the front-runner and CU will make an offer as soon as Air Force’s season is over.

Asked if he could clarify the conflicting reports about him being contacted by CU while the Falcons were still playing, Bzdelik said: “I’m not saying anything about that. My wife and I laugh at all the stuff going on.”

AFA athletic director Hans Mueh has said CU breached an agreement to not contact Bzdelik until Air Force’s season is over. CU’s AD, Mike Bohn, said his staff has done everything above board.

“I have no comment about anything in regards to CU,” Bzdelik said. “This is about my team in New York City, not about me.”

In a question-and-answer session later in the news conference, Bzdelik was asked about the possibility of returning to the NBA as a coach.

“Next question,” said the former Nuggets coach.
