Westminster police reported this afternoon that they found a body in a small holding pond within the Hyland Hills golf course near 94th Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard.
A spokesman said the body was of a male, apparently in his late 20s, with no visible signs of foul play. The body was fully clothed.
The body was reported to police by golf course maintenance workers around noon. The gold course, the 18-hole course, is now closed while police conduct their investigation. The blue course remains open, police said.
In an apparently unrelated case, Lakewood police said today they have found the body of a woman in the Main Reservoir near West Florida Avenue and South Kipling Street. Foul play is not suspected.
“Right now it doesn’t look like anything suspicious,” said Lakewood police spokesman Steve Davis. “On the surface, it looks like an accident.”
The body was discovered by a group walking on a trail near the lake just after 11 a.m., Davis said. A dive team was called in to retrieve the body, which appears to be a woman in her late 50s or early 60s, he said.
Davis said a form of ID was found on the body, but the identity is being withheld pending autopsy results and the notification of next of kin.
