Former Denver firefighter Stan Ford was sentenced Thursday to a year and a day in prison for illegally selling a machine gun.
Ford, 36, was convicted in June 2006 on a single weapons count and acquitted on three others.
He could have been sentenced to up to 10 years in prison and fined up to $250,000.
