The Front Range will be windy and rainy this morning, while the mountains receive some pretty heavy snow.

Chain laws are in effect for all major mountain passes, including Vail, Berthoud and both approaches to the Eisenhower Tunnel. Loveland Pass is closed because of snow.

The storm system will start to diminish this afternoon, but we won’t be seeing glorious sunshine for several more days.

Wednesday will be mostly cloudy and cool, in the 50s, with more snow in the mountains.

Thursday will bring a mixture of rain and snow along the Front Range – mostly rain during the day and turning to snow as the temperatures drop toward evening.

And the National Weather Service is saying that Friday could be downright unpleasant with 5 to 6 inches of snow falling along the Front Range. More snow will fall in the mountains. Travel by car could be difficult.
