DENVER-
A powerful storm moving into the state Thursday could produce blizzard conditions and dump up to a foot of snow in some southeastern areas of Colorado that were already hard hit by blizzards in December and January.
Snow was expected to begin in the afternoon, said Jim Kalina of the National Weather Service in Denver.
Colorado Springs and Pueblo, along with parts of the eastern prairie could get up to a foot of snow, with the Denver metro area getting between 6 and 8 inches.
“This type of storm favors the eastern Continental Divide,” said Kalina.
He said the central mountains and western areas won’t see as much snow.
Spring snow in Colorado is not unusual as March and April historically are the snowiest months of the year.
