CENTENNIAL, Colo.-
A man convicted of killing two men in an alleged case of road rage was sentenced Monday to two consecutive life terms.
Jason Benjamin Reynolds, 34, was convicted earlier this year of two counts of first-degree murder-extreme indifference in the deaths of Kelvin Norman, 50, and Greg Boss, 35, in 2005.
He also was convicted of two counts of vehicular homicide-reckless driving and two counts of careless driving resulting in death.
Reynolds was accused of tailgating and flashing his lights at Norman of Highlands Ranch on E-470 before cutting him off and slamming on his brakes. Prosecutors said Norman swerved and rolled into oncoming traffic, landing on top of a vehicle driven by Boss of Lone Tree.
Norman and Boss were both killed.
In court Monday, Reynolds said: “I’m not responsible for the deaths or accident that occurred in November of 2005. I was tried and convicted in December ’05 and January ’06 when the media whores started their slanderous campaign against me.”
Arapahoe County District Court Judge Carlos Samour Jr. said Reynolds blamed everybody but himself for the deaths.
“You weren’t just happy to get in front of people, to cut in front of people. You weren’t just happy to tail people because you were upset that they wouldn’t go as fast as you were going. That wasn’t enough for you,” Samour said. “No sir, you waited. After you did that, then you cut in front of them and slammed on your brakes. No different than playing Russian roulette.”
