Colorado Springs – A stray bullet struck and killed the driver of a Yellow Cab during a gun battle late Wednesday on the streets of downtown Colorado Springs.
Police said callers reported hearing 10 to 15 shots about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of East Pikes Peak and Wahsatch avenues.
When police arrived, they found a cab that appeared to be involved in a traffic accident. The driver was traveling southbound on Wahsatch Avenue when struck by the bullet.
The driver was identified as Terry L. Wilson, 53, of Colorado Springs. Police say they have no suspect information and no motive.
