HISTORIC DENVER: Named Steve Turner, currently director of preservation services, as president effective June 1. Turner succeeds Kathleen Brooker, who has served as president of the organization since 1992.
STATE BOARD OF HEALTH: Dr. Larry Kipe, president of the Colorado Academy of Family Physicians, was appointed by Gov. Bill Ritter as an at-large representative on the board. His appointment was unanimously confirmed by the Senate House Health Committee.
UNITED STATES INTERAGENCY COUNCIL ON HOMELESSNESS: Awarded Randle Loeb the Gold Award for his work on the Denver Commission to End Homelessness and in recognition of his advocacy for homeless people. Scott Binder, Cindy Parsons and Tiffany Payne, all employees of Comcast, each received the Silver Award for their work in sponsoring the third Project Homeless Connect in October.
