Getting your player ready...

While most mountain towns are mired in mud season, Moe’s Original still is “Comin’ in Hot” at its Eagle location, just a chip shot away from its Vail restaurant in Lionshead (which is closed for the month in true ski town form). The down-valley rib shack sitting on the banks of the Eagle River serves up reasonably priced Southern standards including pulled pork, smoked chicken, smoked turkey and racks o’ ribs accompanied by sweet tea and Moe’s Original ‘Bama-style banana puddin’. With the river on the rise and cyclists already rolling like the Tide, Moe’s Original is the place to get your from-the-pit barbecue fix after a day in or around Eagle. Serving from 11 a.m. until it’s gone.

Get there — 0050 Chambers Ave. in Eagle, next to The Back Bowls Bowling Alley. 970-337-2277 or www.moesoriginalbbq.com.
