The Oklahoma City Blazers of the Central Hockey League stayed alive in a best-of-seven conference semifinal series by defeating the visiting Colorado Eagles 3-0 on Monday night.
The Blazers forced a Game 7 on Wednesday at the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland at 7 p.m. Blazers goalie Sean Connors stopped 25 shots.
The Blazers have won four consecutive games when facing elimination, dating to a first-round series.
Buffs struggle to 11th in Big 12 golf tourney
After Monday’s first day of the Big 12 men’s golf tournament in Hutchinson, Kan., Colorado stood 11th with a two-round total of 617 – 38 strokes behind tournament leader Oklahoma State. Michael Baird shot a 77 and 73 for a 10-over-par 150 to lead the Buffaloes. The final round will be played today.
Clarke to head Fort Lewis women’s soccer
Damian Clarke will be the women’s soccer coach at Fort Lewis College. He was an assistant coach for both the men’s and women’s teams at Mesa State College last season. He earlier was an assistant with the Fort Lewis women’s soccer program, helping coach the 1999 and 2006 championship teams.
