CASTLE ROCK, Colo.-
Two men were killed in a collision on U.S. 85 in Douglas County, the State Patrol said Tuesday.
The victims, whose names were not released, were passengers in an SUV that turned left into the path of a pickup Monday afternoon at the intersection of U.S. 85 and Happy Canyon Road, Master Trooper Ron Watkins said.
The driver of the SUV, 42-year-old Miguel Rodriguez-Padilla of Los Angeles, was taken to a Littleton hospital with serious injuries, Watkins said.
The driver of the pickup, Richard Fell, 54, of Sedalia, was taken to a hospital with moderate injuries.
The accident was still under investigation and no charges had been filed. Investigators did not believe drugs and alcohol were factors, Watkins said.
