BRIGHTON, Colo.-
Two 14-year-old boys were arrested on charges of threatening a large-scale school shooting, the Adams County sheriff’s office said Tuesday.
Investigators arrested the boys at Clear Lake Middle School, where they are students, on Monday after they learned of the alleged threat, sheriff’s Sgt. Candi Baker said.
They are accused of threatening to shoot up Ranum High School, Baker said.
Baker said investigators believed the threat was credible but declined to say why or what the motive may have been.
The case was still under investigation.
The boys were being held in a juvenile detention facility and were set to appear before a judge later Tuesday to see if they can be released on bond.
