Services were planned Friday and Saturday for a Grand Junction soldier killed in Iraq.
Cpl. Wade Oglesby, 27, died April 18 when the Humvee he was driving struck an improvised explosive device in Taji, Iraq, north of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, Stryker Brigade combat team based at Fort Lewis, Wash.
Family members said Oglesby had dropped out of high school to care full-time for his ill mother and enlisted in the Army in 2004 after she died of heart failure.
Visitation was scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Martin’s Mortuary in Grand Junction.
Services were planned for 10 a.m. Saturday at Memorial Gardens and Cemetery.
