Sunday could bring record-breaking heat to the winter-weary Denver area, just five days after a sloppy snowstorm buried parts of the region.
As of this afternoon, the National Weather Service predicts a high temperature in Denver on Sunday of 85 degrees, which would exceed the record high for April 29 of 83, set in 1948.
9News forecasters are calling for a high of 86 Sunday.
Normal late-April highs for Denver are in the mid-60s.
The weather service predicts highs in the low 80s into Monday, then low 70s Tuesday and Wednesday.
In Summit County, the weather service calls for sunny skies and a high of 69 Sunday.
