Creighton scored 10 runs in the first inning and cruised to a season-high 11th straight victory, beating Northern Colorado 17-6 on Sunday.

The Bluejays sent 14 batters to the plate in the opening inning, chasing Northern Colorado starter Jason Banks after seven runs and just one out.

Northern Colorado had a rally of its own in the fourth inning, scoring four runs to make the score 10-4. But Creighton pulled away with a run in the fourth and three runs each in the sixth and eighth innings.

Brandon Knox and Darin Ruf each homered for the Bluejays (30-11). Northern Colorado (10-26) was led in defeat by Adam Symons, who had two hits, a home run and three RBIs.
