Derek Nettingham, a senior at Eaglecrest High School in Centennial, is co-president of the National Honor Society, has taken Advanced Placement classes and maintains a 4.0 grade-point average.

He is in the top 10 percent of his graduating class.

Derek is a varsity track and field team member and was a part of last year’s state-qualifying 4×200-meter relay team.

Outside school, Derek has performed more than 100 hours of community service. He is a former member of the Youth Advisory Board for the Young Americans Center for Financial Education and a current member of the Daniels Young Leader Circle.

Derek is an usher at Living Hope Baptist Church and a beginning golfer.

He will attend Colorado State University in the fall to study technical journalism with an emphasis on media production.
