Getting your player ready...

These are the pains of the Nuggets’ growth: Youth. Inexperience. Rough play at critical moments.

And the San Antonio Spurs.

Playoff games demand playoff basketball, and the Nuggets can deliver that for 35 or 40 minutes depending on the day. But when the opponent is a three-time champion laced with stars and experience, 48 minutes is the requirement.

For the third-straight game, the Nuggets didn’t get it done.

As a result of their 96-89 loss to San Antonio on Monday Night at the Pepsi Center, the Nuggets sit one game from elimination. The Spurs lead the series 3-1 and Denver will try to save its season on Wednesday night in Game 5 at the AT&T center in San Antonio.

The Spurs didn’t play the greatest game they ever have, but made the necessary plays when they needed them. Forward Tim Duncan wouldn’t let his team lose in the second half, scoring 14 of his 22 points in the third and fourth quarters.
