I was deeply touched by the story about Highlands Ranch teenager Luke Peterson, who has been chosen as one of 15 youths who will make up the National Geographic Expedition Team. At the age of 13, Luke already has learned that “people are people” and our basic humanity is what can make us soar over outward appearances that often separate us with devastating results. Love can and does cross all barriers, real or imagined, that exist between humans. Look at the beauty and inspiration one family can create.
