Bette Midler will replace Celine Dion as the headliner at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, officials announced Thursday, answering the lingering question of who would be chosen to step into some big shoes and the 4,100-seat Colosseum, which Dion virtually sold out for what will be a nearly five-year run by December. Dion’s show, “A New Day,” has grossed more than $500 million since it began in March 2003, producers said. Midler, above, said the venue was intimidating but exciting. “I’m looking forward to it, but also I’m terrified because it’s huge,” she told The Associated Press.
Lindsay Lohan delivered yet another lesson in how to turn heads as a Hollywood party girl. Wearing a skimpy gray bikini top and thigh-baring denim shorts, the actress put on a raunchy show at the Coachella Music Festival in California, the London Evening Standard reports. Dancing and posing right throughout the DJ’s set, the 20-year-old star made several special requests for Amy Winehouse’s hit “Rehab.” It’s clearly an anthem of sorts for the troubled star, who recently visited to the Wonderland treatment facility in Los Angeles. Lohan’s party pals included Paris Hilton and Kelly Osbourne. Lohan has promised there will be bigger parties in store, and is already planning a huge bash in Las Vegas for her 21st birthday in July. The actress said in an interview on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”: “I’m going to milk it because it’s a big birthday.”
Halle Berry recently dropped some very adult-sized coin at the new hip baby boutique Bel-Bambini in West Hollywood. The actress spent an hour perusing the shop’s racks and charged more than $1,000 last week on tons of items for a baby girl, TMZ.com reports. Included in the Oscar winner’s retail blitz: Pink organic foot pajamas, a kimono T made from soybean fibers, a plush butterfly backpack and an essential Swarovski crystal-encrusted hotlips accessory. Baby got bling!
