Police this morning caught the second suspect in a home burglary that caused a wild chase along Interstate 70 Monday night with shots fired between two vehicles.

Denver police said the found a man hiding under a mobile home in a park east of Aurora around 9:40 this morning. The man, whose identity hasn’t been released, was taken to Denver Health Medical Center with dog bite wounds to his leg.

About 9:30 p.m. Monday, a man who lives next to the Green Valley Ranch golf course heard two men ransacking his house. He startled the burglars and managed to disarm one of them before they fled in a red Dodge Durango. The victim jumped into his Cadillac Escalade and chased them south onto I-70, police said, adding that shots eventually were fired between the two vehicles.

The man in the Cadillac called police during the chase and was told to stop. Police took over the chase and pursued the Dodge Durango east on I-70 until it finally crashed near the Fox Ridge mobile home park in the 29000 block of East Colfax Avenue, just west of the Aurora Air Park. One occupant of the Durango was captured by police and a second ran into the mobile home park, which police cordoned off until a K-9 team found him.

Neither the victim nor the suspects have been identified by police.
