PLAYOFF RESULTS
Red Wings: def. Flames 4-2, def. Sharks 4-2
Ducks:def. Wild 4-1, def. Canucks 4-1
THE STORY LINE
The Red Wings will have to withstand the loss of defenseman Mathieu Schneider, who suffered a broken wrist in Game 5 against San Jose. The Sharks let the Red Wings off the hook in the second round, and a lot of the time, a championship team has a moment it can look back on like that. So we’re not going to pick against the Wings again.
IN THE SPOTLIGHT
Red Wings goalie Dominik Hasek
Ah, the crafty Czech with the Slinky for a spine – priceless! – is continuing to show that he not only is healthy, he’s at the top of his game. It will take one or both of the Ducks’ goalies to outshine him for Anaheim to advance.
