During the past year away from football, Broncos receiver David Terrell picked up Barack Obama’s memoir, “Dreams from My Father,” and was so inspired, he became a volunteer for the U.S. Senator’s campaign for president.
Terrell’s involvement to date has been to create a “Free Mind for Obama” T-shirt line and spread the word through a group of athletes and entertainers. Having played his best seasons with the Chicago Bears, Terrell knows his way around Obama’s Windy City headquarters. Terrell said Obama would stop in Denver on June 10 and he plans to meet him personally then.
“The way I look at it, he’s going to be president, Hillary’s (Rodham Clinton) going to be vice president,” Terrell said. “Barack’s smarter. He listens to the American people, he listens to the common man, he listens to the rich man. He’s got a lot of plans to help the American economy, make it a safer nation.”
