This will be all, folks.
Girls golfers and soccer players will have the final say to Colorado’s 2006-07 prep sports year.
After a long, busy Saturday in which five spring sports champions were decided, two classifications of girls golfers will begin individual medalist and team titles today.
Class 5A’s meet will be at Patty Jewett Golf Course in Colorado Springs, and 4A’s at Highland Meadows Golf Course in Windsor. Both have their second of two rounds Tuesday.
The 2006 medalists were sophomores. However, although big-school champion Becca Huffer of Littleton, also third as a freshman, returns to defend, 4A medalist Andrea Watts of Kent Denver is competing elsewhere.
The round of soccer championships will continue Tuesday at Englewood High School. The 5A girls, Cherry Creek (15-3-1) vs. Mullen (13-5-1), will play at 5 p.m., followed by the 4A, Regis (13-4-2) vs. Cheyenne Mountain (13-2-2), at 7:30 p.m. That is the last official hurrah to the 86th season on record.
